The mission of the PS20 Talent Show is to give an opportunity for students to experience the magic of developing and performing their own work live.

CRITERIA: What it takes to get in! Who gets to perform?

Grades K-5 Only
ENSEMBLE (group) acts preferred
ORIGINAL acts preferred: your own lyrics, choreography, idea, rather than performing someone else’s music/choreography
UNIQUE genres preferred
Harder to get in: Singers and dancers, especially hiphop and pop.
Easier to get in: Musicians, magicians, comedians, gymnasts, martial artists, yoyoists, puppeteers, skits
“EXPERTS”: Performers should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of their act: Who is the original performer? Who is the songwriter? Who were their influences? What else do you know about the genre?
PRO TIP: If you’re singing a cover, consider a “karaoke” recording without vocals, so we can hear your voice, and not the original singer’s voice.
TIME LIMIT: Should be no more than 2:59 duration (2 minutes, 59 seconds). Choose a musical selection that fits within the time limit, perform a part of the song, or rearrange your act to fit.

REHEARSAL PERIOD: april 21 - may 28, 2025

All auditioners will be notified of their status by Friday, April 11, 2025
Rehearse on your own during Spring Break (April 14-18)
Detailed rehearsal info will be distributed Monday, April 21, 2025

9:15am (school) + 5:00PM (family) Shows
PS20 Auditorium

9:15 AM + 10:05 AM | Open Dress rehearsal for school audience (in two sessions)
5:00 PM | Full performance for families
