Read-A-Thon 2025
PS20 Reads!
The PS20 Read-A-Thon seeks to encourage a love of reading in our students through friendly, collaborative competition. Between March 14 - 21, students and families will be asked to record every minute the student spends reading outside of school on the For Our School portal (and hard copy paper logs will be available for students and families who would prefer pen & paper tracking). We also encourage you to use the For Our School portal to request donations from friends and family to support school-wide literacy programs.
Thank you students, families and teachers for making the first PS20 Reads! Read-a-thon an astounding success!
The level of excitement and commitment from the students was incredible - over 430 students participated! All together, the students of PS20 read 127,831 minutes and raised over $18,000 for the library and literacy programs. Read-a-thon may be over but letโs keep this enthusiasm for reading going! Students can continue to add to the book title tree display in the main hallway and look out for a new suggestion box where they can tell us what books they want for the library. Congratulations to all!
